Dr Priya Rajyaguru
Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist
Dr Priya Rajyaguru is an Honorary Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Priya Rajyaguru has worked with young people with a variety of mental health difficulties and is particularly interested in the assessment and diagnosis of ADHD, ASD, Tics, OCD, depression, and anxiety. She takes great care to ensure the needs of young people and their families are addressed and uses a calm and compassionate communication style. She has worked in a variety of specialist settings including community CAMHS, inpatient CAMHS and specialist tertiary clinics.
Dr Priya Rajyaguru is also a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellow and was previously funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) prior to receiving a prestigious Wellcome Trust Clinical PhD Research Fellowship based at the UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience. Her research focusses on differences in thinking and the impact on mental health in children and adolescents. She is currently investigating the neurocognitive basis of rumination (repetitive negative thoughts) present in both neurotypical and neurodiverse people.
