ADHD & Autism Assessment in Children

Dr Matteo Catanzano

Resident Psychiatrist and NIHR Clinical Lecturer

Dr Matteo Catanzano is a Specialist Registrar in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry on the Maudsley training programme and an NIHR Clinical Lecturer at King's College London. He has broad experience assessing children and young people with suspected autism, ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions across NHS community and national specialist services, as well as independent practice, particularly where presentations are complex or accompanied by anxiety, low mood, emotional dysregulation or behavioural difficulties.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Catanzano is an active clinical academic. He is a Research Clinician on the NIHR-funded SATURN trial, a multi-site clinical trial investigating pharmacological treatments for children and young people with ADHD and tics. He completed his PhD at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health and continues to contribute to research that aims to improve care for children and young people with neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions.

Dr Catanzano is committed to providing thorough, evidence-based assessments that help families gain a clear understanding of a young person's neurodevelopmental profile. He aims to provide clear, individualised recommendations to support young people and their families in accessing appropriate care and achieving the best possible outcomes.
