Dr Cate Manning

Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Dr Cate Manning is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in an NHS Neurodevelopmental Assessment and Treatment Service in East London.She has expertise in the assessment and diagnosis of young people with a range of developmental disorders including ADHD, autism and any co-occurring mental health difficulties.

Dr Manning is passionate about identifying neurodivergence in populations where the diagnosis is often missed or overlooked. She sees diagnosis as a tool to support self understanding, to mobilise appropriate support and to help neurodivergent individuals to reach their potential.

Dr Manning has worked in mental health services for over ten years, across a range of settings including specialist services at the Michael Rutter Centre and Great Ormond Street Hosptial, Adolescent Inpatient services and Community Child and Adolescent Services in Central London.


Qualifications and Training

Dr Manning qualified as a doctor from the University of Oxford in 2009. During her medical degree she intercalated a BA in Experimental Psychology from the University of Cambridge in which she obtained a First Class. She completed her Foundation Medical Training at the Oxford University Hospitals Trust and her Core Psychiatric Training at South London and the Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. She obtained  her Certificate of Completion of Training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry on the Great Ormond Street Hospital and East London NHS Trust Training Scheme.

She is trained in ADOS and 3Di administration (autism assessments).
